September started out just as August ended with high-based thunderstorms drfiting around eastern Pima County. The image above from Computer Sciences webcam shows light shower a bit before 6 pm MST over the Catalina foothills. Shower dissipated shortly after photo. Rain on the ground was mostly at higher elevations from north - to southeast to west of metro Tucson. Almost 40% of the ALERT gauges measured rain in past 24 hours, but no measurable rain noted at any of the low elevation, greater Tucson gauges. Three sites had more than 1/2 an inch. Here at house there may have been a Trace before midnight, but I'm not certain.

The IR image from 5 pm MST (below) shows a large MCS over Sonora. This system sent outflows north into most of southern Arizona by midnight. Surface dewpoints are up at most stations, and Yuma had a substantial surge of low-level moisture, as its dewpoint jumped 41F in one hour just before midnight. There were isolated light showers with the outflows.
