A BLOG ABOUT SOUTHWESTERN WEATHER, Welcome to the MadWeather Blog! We have two basic rules for this blog:
WEATHER FORECASTING & OBSERVING, AND OTHER RELATED TOPICS
(1) Debate and discussion should be civil.
(2) Because public discussion, regardless of the topic,
is not very effective if we don't know who is talking to whom,
MadWeather does not accept anonymous posts.

Widespread Heavy Precipitation - Quite Something
Above photo is from Kitt Peak webcam - south view, at a bit after 7 am MST - shows a frosty, foggy ghost-like scene. View below from a bit ago shows snow on Catalinas and that snow level didn't change much after late morning yesterday. Rainfall here at the house was 1.26" on Tuesday - and 0.26" Monday morning. Putting past two days in a near tie with September 9 and 10 as wettest 48-hours during 2011. December total now stands at 1.99" here at the house - really quite something.
The NWS has a nice summary posted on their website for yesterday - the 13th. See below and
