A BLOG ABOUT SOUTHWESTERN WEATHER, Welcome to the MadWeather Blog! We have two basic rules for this blog:
WEATHER FORECASTING & OBSERVING, AND OTHER RELATED TOPICS
(1) Debate and discussion should be civil.
(2) Because public discussion, regardless of the topic,
is not very effective if we don't know who is talking to whom,
MadWeather does not accept anonymous posts.

Brief April Summary
View south from Kitt Peak this afternoon, May 1st, at about 5 pm MST. The boundary layer still looks a bit dirty, even though winds have been down for several days.
April brought precipitation only on the 14th - 0.15". This was fourth straight month with only 1 event with rainfall - all right around middle of the month. There were six days in April with lows in the 30s, and the coldest morning was on the 3rd with 32F.
Looking ahead to May - dry and hot is the norm. The last time we had rainfall in May here at the house was in 2009. So, it will be a quiet month most likely.
