A BLOG ABOUT SOUTHWESTERN WEATHER, Welcome to the MadWeather Blog! We have two basic rules for this blog:
WEATHER FORECASTING & OBSERVING, AND OTHER RELATED TOPICS
(1) Debate and discussion should be civil.
(2) Because public discussion, regardless of the topic,
is not very effective if we don't know who is talking to whom,
MadWeather does not accept anonymous posts.

Middle And High Clouds
A comparatively big weather day with weak trough along the coast and some middle and high cloudiness. Above is visible satellite image for 8:15 MST and below is view of Catalinas from campus at about 9:00 am. Note the middle-level build ups. Air is a bit dirty this morning.
October 2012 turned out to be twice as wet as October 2011. The "rain" amounted to 0.02" this year vs. 0.01" last year.
Long range models predict another east coast storm, and a fairly strong trough in the west toward next weekend.
