A BLOG ABOUT SOUTHWESTERN WEATHER, Welcome to the MadWeather Blog! We have two basic rules for this blog:
WEATHER FORECASTING & OBSERVING, AND OTHER RELATED TOPICS
(1) Debate and discussion should be civil.
(2) Because public discussion, regardless of the topic,
is not very effective if we don't know who is talking to whom,
MadWeather does not accept anonymous posts.

Tropical Storm Cristina
The NHC has begun issuing advisories for Tropical Depression Three-E. Current forecast shown above indicates that Christina may become a hurricane as it moves toward the west-northwest. Visible satellite image this afternoon (below) shows decent structure already, and I suspect that Christina has already become a tropical storm. The rotation was impressive in satellite loops this morning. Right now the long-range global models forecast widely varying tracks for Christina, so we will have to keep an eye on the storm to see which model has better forecast.
