Mike Leuthold, emailing from Paradise, Arizona, reports periods of very heavy snows there yesterday (January 2nd). View is from his remote get-a-way, looking toward Silver Peak in the Chiricahuas.
Note that Paradise is located a bit northwest of Portal.
