WRF Wind Forecast For Saturday
The seventh annual Tucson Festival of Books will take place on campus this weekend; it has become quite a big event during these seven years. While there is a slight chance of sprinkles here and there in southeast Arizona the next two days, the WRF-NAM forecasts strong easterly winds for Saturday morning. Forecast of 10-m winds below is from 06 UTC model run last night and is valid at 11:00 am MST on Saturday morning. Winds are always a worry for this event, since almost all the "booths" are set up in numerous tents, of varying sizes, that are spread up and down the University of Arizona Mall. So, something else to keep a weather eye on.
