A BLOG ABOUT SOUTHWESTERN WEATHER, Welcome to the MadWeather Blog! We have two basic rules for this blog:
WEATHER FORECASTING & OBSERVING, AND OTHER RELATED TOPICS
(1) Debate and discussion should be civil.
(2) Because public discussion, regardless of the topic,
is not very effective if we don't know who is talking to whom,
MadWeather does not accept anonymous posts.

Thunderstorms At Sunrise West Side Of City
When I walked this morning there were thunderstorms off to west of the Tucson Mountains, producing occasional CG lightning flashes and some distant rumbles of thunder. The storms have drifted eastward and are moving into parts of the city - TUS is reporting a heavy thunderstorm currently. Sprinkles right now here. The morning sounding (below from SPC) is quite unstable with little lift needed for storm development. Graphic at bottom shows CG flash density for 2-hours ending at 6:45 am MST this morning (form Weather.Graphics and Vaisala).
