A BLOG ABOUT SOUTHWESTERN WEATHER, Welcome to the MadWeather Blog! We have two basic rules for this blog:
WEATHER FORECASTING & OBSERVING, AND OTHER RELATED TOPICS
(1) Debate and discussion should be civil.
(2) Because public discussion, regardless of the topic,
is not very effective if we don't know who is talking to whom,
MadWeather does not accept anonymous posts.

TS Marty Develops South Of Mexico
Tropical Storm Marty has developed south of Mexico, as shown above (from NHC). The IR below is from 12 UTC and indicates that Marty's cloud shield is centered around 15 N and 122 W. the current forecast from NHC (at bottom) indicates that Marty will briefly become a hurricane, but then be sheared apart before making landfall. This leaves a low-level, remnant depression moving westward, away from Mexico. The storm gets close enough to Mexico that heavy rains and flooding will be a concern.
