A BLOG ABOUT SOUTHWESTERN WEATHER, Welcome to the MadWeather Blog! We have two basic rules for this blog:
WEATHER FORECASTING & OBSERVING, AND OTHER RELATED TOPICS
(1) Debate and discussion should be civil.
(2) Because public discussion, regardless of the topic,
is not very effective if we don't know who is talking to whom,
MadWeather does not accept anonymous posts.

Mysterious ASOS Gusts To 38 MPH
For some reason observations of light winds, but with gusts to 38 mph, are showing up nearly every day in the TUS ASOS observations - example from today shown above. Something is obviously out of kilter, since the gust to 38 observation has appeared 49 different times during the past seven days.
For some reason ASOS observations are now appearing at 5-minute intervals, which is a real pain if one just wants to see current conditions and compare to same time yesterday.
