A BLOG ABOUT SOUTHWESTERN WEATHER, Welcome to the MadWeather Blog! We have two basic rules for this blog:
WEATHER FORECASTING & OBSERVING, AND OTHER RELATED TOPICS
(1) Debate and discussion should be civil.
(2) Because public discussion, regardless of the topic,
is not very effective if we don't know who is talking to whom,

Evening Thunderstorms Over Parts Of City
Thunderstorms developed over parts of the city yesterday evening around 7:00 to 7:30 pm MST. Above is IR image at 8:00 pm and below is CG flash density for 12-hours ending at 7:45 am this morning. Some of the displays of Vaisala data at Atmo seem to be having trouble with the time part of the data.
Regardless, there was a nice period of rain and thunder here at the house, which was a pleasant surprise. Ended up with 0.16" in the gauge here. The zoomed display of ALERT data below (for 24-hours ending at 6:30 am) shows the area with heavier amounts - considerably higher totals at a number of sites than occurred on Friday. Across the entire network 32 of 93 sites reported rainfall.
