A BLOG ABOUT SOUTHWESTERN WEATHER, Welcome to the MadWeather Blog! We have two basic rules for this blog:
WEATHER FORECASTING & OBSERVING, AND OTHER RELATED TOPICS
(1) Debate and discussion should be civil.
(2) Because public discussion, regardless of the topic,
is not very effective if we don't know who is talking to whom,
MadWeather does not accept anonymous posts.

Sergio A Cat. 4 Hurricane
Might as well take a look ahead toward middle of month.
Hurricane Sergio is a Category 4 storm this morning. Visible image above is from 1430 UTC (7:30 am MST) - below shows simple explanation of wind scale.
Toward the end of next week it will be interesting to see how close the remains of Sergio come to Baja, This morning's NHC track forecast (above) indicates an abrupt turn toward the north early next week.
By 00 UTC on October 11th, the GEFS spaghetti chart (right below) shows several members forecasting Sergio's 500 mb circulation to be heading close to Baja. Very far ahead but interesting none the less.
