A BLOG ABOUT SOUTHWESTERN WEATHER, Welcome to the MadWeather Blog! We have two basic rules for this blog:
WEATHER FORECASTING & OBSERVING, AND OTHER RELATED TOPICS
(1) Debate and discussion should be civil.
(2) Because public discussion, regardless of the topic,
is not very effective if we don't know who is talking to whom,
MadWeather does not accept anonymous posts.

Two Wildfires Near Tucson
Two wildfires are currently burning north of Tucson metro area: one in the Tortolita Mountains and the other on the east end of the Catalinas, as per image above.
Winds aloft have become northerly up to heights well above mountain-tops of the Catalinas and the smoke plume from the Bighorn fire (above and below at 7:00 am MST and a bit after) is coming south across the City. Some smoke may mix down and impact parts of the metro area as the day progresses.
