Just watched the 7 am weather on TV 4 - the graphic above was prominently featured with the simple statement: "Monsoon 2013 Starts" shown for Saturday the 15th. Actually it should have said that the 2013 Monsoon Season begins on Saturday, as per the NWS definition - see earlier discussion about the vagueness of what this actually means. Unfortunately, we will be in the midst of the Wildfire Season here in the Southwest and waiting anxiously for the summer thunderstorms and rains to get underway. (Note that the weather guy, Jeff B., did have a qualifier later in his forecast stating that the storms wouldn't actually be here by Saturday.)
