A BLOG ABOUT SOUTHWESTERN WEATHER, Welcome to the MadWeather Blog! We have two basic rules for this blog:
WEATHER FORECASTING & OBSERVING, AND OTHER RELATED TOPICS
(1) Debate and discussion should be civil.
(2) Because public discussion, regardless of the topic,
is not very effective if we don't know who is talking to whom,
MadWeather does not accept anonymous posts.

Cirrus Overcast Makes For Dreary Morning
View of cirrus overcast from Atmo this morning above. Fog and dreary at LAX down at bottom.
IR image below from 7:00 am MST shows the cirrus affecting mostly northern Mexico.
Above plot of detected CG flashes for yesterday morning's storms (from Atmo and Vaisala for 24-hours ending at 7:00 am this morning. Storms and rain occurred mostly during the morning hours. ALERT network rainfall reports yesterday's event - plenty of thunder here but only 0.03" of rain.
The GEFS plumes (second below) for TUS QPF for coming week don't hold out much hope for more rain.
