A BLOG ABOUT SOUTHWESTERN WEATHER, Welcome to the MadWeather Blog! We have two basic rules for this blog:
WEATHER FORECASTING & OBSERVING, AND OTHER RELATED TOPICS
(1) Debate and discussion should be civil.
(2) Because public discussion, regardless of the topic,
is not very effective if we don't know who is talking to whom,

Miscellany Sunday Afternoon November 10th
Chaotic skies over the Catalinas currently, but with temperatures in the 80s. Down at bottom are two webcam views this afternoon in the cold, snowy push of Arctic air into the Plains: Devil's Tower, Wyoming; and main street Deadwood, South Dakota.
Forecast above from the NWS this morning indicated wind gusts as high as 46 mph on Tuesday the 12th. However, current afternoon forecast below has Tuesday gusts as high as 34 mph. Second below is today's 18 UTC WRF-NAM forecast of 10-m winds valid at 10:00 am MST on Tuesday the 12th.
I suspect that the 46 mph might have been an uncaught typo. But, definitely a change on the way, wrt winds, as the Plains front pushes westward into our region.
