Cool Start To April

April has gotten off to a cool start here at the house with morning lows in the 30s on 6 of 8 mornings. Lowest was 32 F on the 4th - interesting because March passed without a single morning dropping to freezing. Other mornings have ranged 36 to 38 F, which was the low this morning. With very warm temperatures this afternoon, it may be a day with a diurnal swing of 50 F or more. View of the Catalinas this morning at 7 am MST shows that there continues to be considerable, very fine dust in the air over southern Arizona. Sun rises have featured a sun shrouded in bright white, forward-scattered light and the Rincons have not been visible a couple of mornings.

The Masters golf tournament is this week and photo below shows thick fog that moved in just ahead of the heavy rains that washed out Monday's practice round.
