Perfectly clear skies this morning, but with cool temperatures and gusty east winds - note flag on campus above.
Winds at airport have been gusting up around 30 mph, and it's been similar here at house. Temperature at airport has been in the low 50s F last couple of hours, so it's quite chilly out there. Looks like continued fair, but with a gradual warm up through the weekend,
Observed winds at the Mt. Hopkins RAWS station are above - note the max gust this morning of 74 mph. Winds up on mountain top at the MMT telescope peaked at about 60 mph earlier this morning. Winds out at Kitt Peak have been up to around 50 mph this morning.
Forecast below is from the 12 UTC WRF-RR and is for wind speeds at 11:30 am. Forecast indicates that winds should gradually decrese during the afternoon.
