Warmer Through The Weekend

At 500 mb this morning (above) a closed low is moving through the southern portion of the western North America ridge. Temperatures will be cool today as this feature moves by, but will then warm-up markedly through the weekend (06 UTC GEFS temperature forecasts for the airport below).

Second below is precipitation forecast through 11:00 am MST Sunday, from the 06 UTC WRF-GFS run at Atmo. Just some light precipitation over northeastern Arizona as the closed low moves eastward this morning. The rain forecast earlier this week for today has not materialized and our long dry spell continues.
