Eastern Pacific Continues Very Active

Tropical depression number 5 developed in the Eastern Pacific during the day yesterday, and it was officially identified by NHC last night. It has now been upgraded to Tropical Storm Darby (top visible satellite image). Bottom image shows Hurricane Celia this morning. I don't have the statistics at hand, but I know that it is quite unusual to get to the "D" storm so early in June.
