Showers Yesterday

Catalinas and puffy cumulus at 1230 PM MST today.

There were light showers scattered around the metro area yesterday afternoon. ALERT network amounts above were for 24 hours ending at 6:00 am this morning. No lightning or thunder in the greater metro area yesterday. Here at house we had a Trace.

This morning's sounding (above) is similar to yesterday's. The surface lifted parcel avoids the inversion; however, the surface to 700 mb layer runs up into the inversion. There is much drier air to the west, and question is whether storms will develop before the dry air arrives. Forecast from the 12 UTC WRF-RR (below - valid at 6:00 am tomorrow) indicates that answer is probably no.
