Chance For Showers

Skies this morning (above view at 7:37 am MST) are a bit hazy, with some suspended dust hanging over the metro area.

Plumes here are from the 06 UTC runs of the GEFS. Forecasts for QPF (above) indicate chances for off and on showers next week, with generally light amounts. Amounts of PW (below) ramp up rapidly over the weekend.

Total precipitable water analysis at 14 UTC this morning (above) shows very dry conditions covering all of the West. However, easterly winds advect higher moisture values from Texas westward into southeast Arizona by 6:00 am on Monday the 15th (forecast below from the 00 UTC WRF-GFS run at Atmo).

The long term GFS forecast from the 06 UTC run (below, through through noon on the 19th) indicates amounts of around a half inch to an inch are possible over southeast Arizona. There has been no rainfall here at the house since 22 March, so some showers would be most welcome next week.
