A Look To The Northeast

A surface front with much cooler temperatures and rain is pushing south down the Front Range and northeastern New Mexico this afternoon (surface plot for 4:30 pm MST from NCAR/RAL above). This front will backdoor into southeastern Arizona tomorrow morning with gusty east winds by afternoon (below is WRF-GFS, 12z run, forecast for 3 pm tomorrow). The main impact of the front will be the change in winds. The downslope winds and sunshine will actually lead to warmer temperatures than we had today. The WRF does forecast some storms during tomorrow afternoon, mainly in Santa Cruz and Cochise counties.
