Quite a bit of altocumulus and altocumulus castelanus around this morning (7 July 2010), and also last evening. Top image shows high-based convection, with snow virga, a bit before sunset last evening - photo taken looking south-southeast from the house. Middle view of puffy altocumulus taken by the Kitt Peak webcam looking north this morning. Bottom image is visible view from above - showing a distinct south-to-north band of cloudiness over Arizona. This is somewhat similar to the situation about a week ago.
