A Mild Morning

It is a mild morning (Thursday March 3rd 2011) here in Tucson, with the low temperature at the house of 44F. There is a noticeable touch of humidity in the air under hazy, chatotic skies with high and middle clouds(see top image). This is mostly due to the long west-to-east plume of precipitable water that extends from west of Hawaii into the Southwest (bottom image). Also of interest is the curl of higher PW extending from south of Cuba into a weak surface low over the central Gulf of Mexico. This feature may help feed strong thunderstorms tomorrow - see the SPC outlook for Friday.
