PW Increases Over The Gulf Of California

Even though TS Beatriz dissipated and vanished more quickly than it formed, it appears to have helped increase PW substantially up the GoC. The CIMSS blended PW product is shown above for 2000 UTC on the 20th, 21st, and 22nd of June (top to bottom). Note that PW values have increased markedly from yesterday afternoon to this afternoon, especially from about 25 to 30 degrees N. With VERY hot temperatures over southern Arizona and the lower Colorado River Basin the next couple of days, there may be several diurnal pushes of shallow, low-level moisture into the deserts, especially during the morning periods of strong southerly winds. Also of note - during this same time PW has increased substantially over the western Gulf of Mexico.
