Storms Around
The morning run of Atmo's WRF-GFS (previous post) seems to have been quite good, and even a bit conservative. The top photo above is from the house looking at building Cbs over the Catalinas at 2 pm MST, and just above is the visible satellite image at the same time. Below is the TUS NWS radar composite image, also for 2 pm. Finally, at bottom is an image from wxunderground showing 2:40 pm MST surface observations and TUS radar image. Several areas of cold outflow are present. Here at house at 2:50 pm we have some dust and a cooling wind from the southeast. Airport has been noting a thunderstorm in the vicinity. So, a very nice break to what had seemed like never ending hot and dry!
