More Photos

Interesting day already, with cumulus towers bubbling up over the Catalinas already at 8:45 am MST - note that towers have not built into the stronger winds present in upper troposphere this morning.

Two photos from Art Rangno (another retired atmospheric scientist, who lives in Catalina on the other side of the mountain). Top is the same storm as seen from campus two posts below, but viewed from the west. Storm below is another development near Oracle Ridge that occurred just before dark. Many great cloud photos at Art's blog    http://cloud-maven.com/

Note that in addition to the 2.64" reported at the Oracle Ridge ALERT station, the station near Mescal at south end of Rincons reported 2.40" from the storms yesterday afternoon and evening.
