Smoke And Then Moisture



Smoke moving into parts of the city and the Catalinas (above) at 7:30 am MST this morning, as strong east winds blew in from New Mexico. The morning forecast from the NWS (below) continues to call for high POPs for rainfall through the weekend.



MIMIC analysis for total PW (above) shows moisture intruding southeast Arizona from both the east and also from the GoC.

Plumes for QPF at the airport (above, from the 06 UTC runs of the GEFS models) continue to show intermittent periods showers through the coming week.

Surface observations (below) from the airport show the big jump in Td between 8:00 and 9:00 am. Now we'll wait and hope for the showers and some rain in the gauge.
