I think that my earlier post titled: Tough Situation For Forecasting Low Temps was pretty much how things played out this morning wrt low temperatures. The winds blew all night at some spots but went calm at many others. Lows right here in Tucson were:
Here at House 22F
TUS 30F
Atmo 35F
DM AFB 42F
Other cold morning lows: Sasabe 22F; Columbine RAWS 24F; and Douglas 15F.
Other warm morning lows at RAWS sites: Headquarters 41F, Rincon 41F; Muleshoe Ranch 48F; and Mt. Hopkins 48F.
Looks like a spread in the morning lows across southeast Arizona of more than 30 degrees F! Which as I had noted earlier makes for a tough forcasting challenge. Generally the NWS had forecasts that tended too cold at some locations and the WRF-GFS forecast definitely tended too warm at many locales.
