Somewhat Dreary Day - 3 December 2010

Was a somewhat dreary day today in the Tucson area as high cloudiness streamed across the area from the Pacific. A solar halo was visible off and on through the middle of the day today, unfortunately, here it's not a harbinger of likely rain. The images above show satellite views, plus a webcam shot of the catalinas this afternoon. The satellite images show considerably more cloudiness over the eastern Pacific, being pulled north by the system off of California. This feature had been malingering east of Hawaii for several days, before being picked up by the westerlies. Looks like another day or two cloudiness. It was clear enough last night for the low temperature here to drop down to 32F, compared to official TUS low of 44F. Was 27F at house yesterday, while TUS was 41F. November closed out with a couple of sprinkles for the entire month, barely qualifying as a Trace of rainfall.
