Subtropical Moisture Advecting Northeastward

Satellite imagery this afternoon (VIS, IR, and WV above) shows a significant area of middle and high level moisture advecting northeastward from the subtropics (i.e., from around130W 25N out west of Baja). It will be interesting to watch this plume tomorrow, as the system off California pulls eastward into the Great Basin. Models today picked it up early in forecast period, but didn't do much with it tomorrow (e.g., Atmo WRF-GFS forecasts show some light precip in the Rim Country tomorrow but nothing south of Rim)..
