Turned Out Not To Be Tough Forecast For WRF Model!
A very interesting, and mild, night. Here at the house winds from the northeast picked up before sunset (above is 7 pm surface plot from around the metro, indicating one nearby station with gusts to 31 mph). Winds blew all night at around 20 to sometimes around 40 mph. I was definitely way wrong thinking that there'd be cool pockets around - with winds starting in early, there was never a chance for cool, stable pools of air to form. Low here at house was 51F - up 23F from yesterday morning. The two time series plots from Atmo (below, for last 7 days: top is T and Td; bottom is wind speed and gusts) show the very mild temperatures during the night and the large contrast with the past several days. Wind speed stayed up all night , also in contrast to last two nights. As Jethro Tull said: "Nothing is easy!"
