Quick Look At NWS NAM Forecasts This Morning
Skies are clear and crisp this morning over Tucson area and I'm sure the CoC is delighted.
The new NAM forecasts from 12 UTC this morning show a bit of a change for the coming weekend.
The 24-h 500 mb forecast (above) indicates a S/W splitting away from the closed low over Alaska. By 84-h (Saturday at 5:00 pm MST - below) the S/W in the southern branch of the 500 mb flow is approaching the Southwest. The 700 mb forecast for same time (bottom) gives a bit of hope for Saturday night and Sunday showers, as the system is forecast to pick up some lower-latitude moisture. Would be nice - the last time rainfall of 0.15" or more fell here at the house was way back on January 8th - exactly three months ago.
