Another Dry Day

View toward Catalinas at 5:30 am MST this morning, showing some virga toward Redington Pass.

Plot of detected CG flashes (above, from Atmo and Vaisala) is for 24 hours ending at about midnight last night. There were very few flashes in all of Pima County. ALERT data for 24 hours ending at 7:00 am this morning (below) shows only very light sowers over the Catalinas, and nothing in the metro area. Yesterday's WRF forecast verified quite well, but did miss the activity on the Catalinas.

Morning TWC/TUS sounding (above) remains little changed with light/variable winds and slight CAPE.

The 06 UTC WRF-GFS forecast (above) indicates only some light sprinkles in the metro area. The NWS morning forecast (below) is again fairly agressive, with 40 % POPs for the airport today and tonight.
