No Rain Here

View looking toward the Rincons at 5:30 am MST this morning.

Plot of detected CG flashes (above - from Atmo and Vaisala) is for 24 hours ending a bit after midnight last night. Below is ALERT data for 24 hours ending at 7:00 am this morning.

There may have been thunder here but I didn't hear it. The airport and DM AFB had thunder but no rain. Atmo reported 0.03" on campus. Quick look at previous post indicates that NWS forecast was a bit optimistic, while WRF forecast was a bit pessimistic..

Sister Pam Fletcher reports 1.38 inches during late afternoon and evening at Santa Rita Abbey - about 6 miles northwest of Sonoita.

This morning the 500 mb anticyclone is elongated west to east, with its axis just to our north, The morning sounding from TWC/TUS (below) has greater CAPE than yesterday but light and variable winds through the troposphere. Storms this afternoon will move around via local propagation on outflows.

Forecasts here from 06 UTC WRF-GFS and NWS this morning. The WRF again indicates almost nothing in Pima County, while NWS keeps moderate POPs for the airport. Time will tell.
