Brian Curran reports:
Yesterday (8/11) marked the 52nd day of over 100F highs at MAF, tying a record set in 1964. Looks like a new record will not be set today as highs are forecast to be in the mid 90s. Because...
...yesterday MAF received the first significant (> 0.10") rainfall since 9/25/10 (320 days). The 0.37" received Thursday nearly doubled the precipitation recorded during those 320 days.
With instability present and PW values close to +2 SD above climatology, we expect more badly-needed rainfall today.
