Continues Quite Moist But With Stagnant Winds

Heavy cloud cover prevailed over much of the region yesterday and, with diminished CAPE, made for a much less active day. Rain occurred at 54 of the 93 ALERT gauges with amounts quite light at lower elevations and with great amounts in the Catalina and Rincon mountains areas. Max amount was 1.18" at Dodge Tank on north side of the Catalinas. Here at house we had several spinkles and end the month with a trace - the 29th and 30th events, however, turned what was mostly an extremely dry month into a wet month with 3.26" of rain here at house.
-----------------------------------------------------------
High temperature yesterday was a cool 81F and today starts with heavy cloud cover, except over in Cochise County - see the top two images. The sounding at TWC this morning indicates moist conditions (PW are in 40 to 50 mm range at lower elevations) but with little CAPE and light/variable winds through much of troposphere. The morninig NAM continues the weak flow situation for the next 24-hours and keeps most rainfall at higher elevations.
