It was a very suppressed day yesterday and I found no reports of rainfall in southeast Arizona. An intense MCS developed in northern Sonora during the late afternoon (see top image). The convective cores in this system moved slowly southward, while the anvil streamed northward and reached out over Tucson by dusk.

NHC has declared that TD Eight-E has formed west of Cabo Correntes during the early morning hours (see middle image for IR depiction). The TD is not expected to deepen much as it moves west-northwestward (see bottom image) but it does take a favorable track for helping push subtropical moisture northward up the GoC.
