Cool, Crisp Morning

Very nice morning here in Tucson, as above view of the Catalinas shows. While the low at Atmo was 64F on campus, and 61 or 62F at the airport, it dropped down to 55F here at the house, making it the coolest morning in several months. The precipitable water has dropped below 10 mm over southeast Arizona and the morning sounding is very dry (see bottom two graphics). So the main question for the coming week is whether or not mT air from the lower GoC will make it into Arizona again briefly early next week? This morning's NAM suggests that it will. However, the forecast develops a disturbance over the lower GoC that becomes an important feature in the model forecasts - we'll have to keep an eye to the south and monitor what actually happens down there.
