Below is forecast sounding for TWC/TUS valid at 3:30 pm this afternoon (from the 12 UTC WRF-RR forecast this morning). There is a sliver of CAPE present, but it doesn't reach to cold enough temperatures to support thunderstorms. Most significant in the profile are the very strong winds aloft, with speeds of 50 kt reaching to near the surface.
