Frosty, Foggy Morning Here

The Summerhaven webcam, on Mt. Lemmon, shows that snow an winter conditions had returned to the mountain at 5 pm MST Saturday afternnon (above). Here at the house at 5 pm there was light rain with a temperature of 39F. The weather event had ended across much of the metro area by 10 pm early last night. At 10 pm we'd had 0.23" of rain here at the house, the moon was out, and the temperature was down to 35F. This morning there is fog, a very rare desert event here, hanging in the Rillito wash - see below. Here at house visibility is currently less than half a mile, and it seems like the Midwest on a damp, foggy Fall morning. Looks like the low here was 28F - our 6th morning this Fall with freezing temperatures along the Rillito in north Tucson! The Catalinas have a nice new covering of snow, as can also be seen below.

The latest event was another one with 100% coverage over the ALERT network - but amounts were again light, with most sites reporting 0.2 to 0.3". It has been quite an interesting November and December in the Southwest, in spite of the ongoing La Nina.
