Early Morning MCS In Rim Country

There is an MCS moving across the Rim Country this morning, probably producing heavy rains and some flash flood threats. IR image above is from 6:30 am MST, while Flagstaff composite radar image below is from 6:41 am.

Plot of detected CGs at bottom (from Atmo and Vaisala) is for 24-hours ending at 6:30 am. Time bar is included which indicates how long ago flashes were detected. Thunderstorm activity across northern part of state is mostly from past 6-hours.

The green tones over the Tucson metro area are from yesterday's mid-day, very heavily raining storms. Airport had wettest July 1st on record with more than 8/10s of an inch (total here only 0.18").
