January 2021 Summary

Replaying Art Douglas' great lenticular photo from the 18th over the San Pedro Valley.

Here at house during January we had 0.88" inches of rain - perhaps some snow was mixed in on night of the 25th. There was measurable rain on six days, with greatest total being 0.33", also on the night of the 25th. January precipitation last year was 0.70".

During the past 21 Januarys here there have been three years with more than 2 inches and two years with no precipitation. Average here for those 21 years has been 1.03".

As for temperatures - there were 19 days here at house with a morning low of 32 F or colder, compared with last January when there were only 12 mornings with freezing or colder. There were 4 days with a low of 25 F or colder, and coldest morning was 23 F on the 13th. Note that my setup here doesn't allow me to record accurate high temperatures.
