Towering cumulus and old Cb over the Catalinas at 6:10 am MST this morning.

Plot of detected CG flashes through 0803 UTC this morning (from Atmo and Vaisala) indicates widespread thunderstorm activity over most of Pima County, except part of eastern Pima County including most of metro area.

 ALERT data through 7:00 am (above and below) shows widespread, mostly light rain amounts. But there is a noticeable hole over most of the metro area. Here at house we had early am shower that left 0.01" in the raingauge.

Visible satellite image from 1500 UTC this morning (above) shows large cloud mass over Sonora that is moving into southern Arizona.

The 06 UTC WRF-GFS forecast through 6:00 am tomorrow morning (above) indicates another day with mostly light showers across the metro area. Current morning forecast from NWS Forecast Office (below) continues very high POPs for the airport today, and includes a flash flood watch.
