As a weak 500 mb short wave affects Arizona over the weekend, moisture may increase enough from the east to southeast to support showers and thunderstorms over our area. The 06 UTC WRF-NAM forecast from Atmo above shows winds and PW valid at 1:00 pm MST on Saturday, October 8th. While the forecast for composite radar echoes below is valid at 3:00 pm on the 8th. The forecast at bottom is for accumulated rainfall through midnight on Saturday night. Were this forecast to verify, the event would be fairly widespread; however, Saturday is still a couple of days away. But, something to watch locally.
