January 2017 Mild Compared To Last Year
View to south from Kitt Peak this first day of February 2017 - chilly here at house but too early to know what low will be.
A quick summary of January here along the Rillito Bottoms along north side of City of Tucson.
Rainfall totaled 1.79 (1.36) inches - 2016 numbers in parens. There was rainfall on 7 (4) days with three (zero) nighttime events producing rainfall on two days. Thunderstorms occurred on 1 (1) day. This was the fifth wettest January since I started my records 18 years ago. Wettest January has been 2010 with 2.96", while no rainfall occurred during January 2006 and 2014.
Morning low temperatures were fairly mild this year so far. Only 10 (19) days had morning lows of 32 F or colder, with 5 (9) of these having lows at 28 F or colder.

Ron Holle reports 2.66 at his place in Oro Valley - almost an inch more than here.
