Summer Precipitation Arizona vs New Mexico

Edited to add: As per Mike's comment - the Yuma data are not valid. Yuma actually had 0.09" in August and 0.45" in September, or total of ).54" compared to average of 1.30".

All of the graphics here are from Mike Crimmins web site at:

https://cals.arizona.edu/climate/misc/monsoon/monsoon_summaries.html

The graphics here show Arizona  and New Mexico precipitation from June 15 - September 30, both as total rainfall and percent of average. While Arizona had a very wet July, all in all the summer monsoon precipitation was quite dismal for most of state. However, New Mexico was very wet, especially at higher elevations and over the eastern Plains. Note that high elevations in New Mexico fared very much better. The strange pattern could benefit from some closer examination and explanations.

I've grabbed four plots of individual station summaries along the Borderlands, from Yuma to El Paso, these show the west-to-east dry-to-moist character of this summer's rains.
