Mostly Dry Forecast Now


Contrails north of the Catalinas early this morning (above) and viewed from downtown Phoenix at bottom.

Forecast models continue to trend drier than earlier this week. Shown above are the 06 UTC QPF plumes for QPF at the airport. Some members continue to forecast light showers after the weekend, while others keep it dry. Current NWS morning forecast has no mention of POPs for rain through seven days.  Shown below is the 06 UTC GFS forecast for total precipitation through 11 pm next Monday night - quite a change from a few days ago - see second post below.

Finally, the Tucson Forecast Office showed a nice graphic yesterday (below) that contrasts last year's dryness with the wetness we've experienced this year.
