Precipitation Amounts For 2021

Sunrise view from Wilcox at about 6:45 am MST this morning. Some sun on the foothills and parts of campus at 4:30 yesterday afternoon is shown down at bottom.

Map of Arizona average precipitation above (from Western Region Climate Center for 1981 - 2010). Comparison with ALERT maps below indicates just how wet 2021 was across the network.

Rainfall for 2021 from the ALERT network (above and below) - there are some obvious suspect gauges: the 28.39" near Picture Rocks; the 46.93" in western Catalinas; the 24.53" near Vail; and the 6.57" south of Three Points. There is also uncertainty at higher elevations due to snowfall, which is not measured directly by the ALERT gauges.

Here at the house total rainfall for the year was 16.01" - the wettest year since I started keeping records in 1999.
